Publishing your author profile on bqqk requires an active subscription. This guide covers everything you need to know about subscription plans, billing, and account management.

Subscription Overview

Pricing

  • Annual subscription: $50/year
  • Billing: Automatic annual renewal
  • Payment methods: Credit card or debit card

What's Included

Your subscription gives you:

  • Full profile visibility to all institutions
  • Unlimited booking requests
  • Secure payment processing
  • Access to all platform features
  • Institution discovery tools
  • Resource library access

Free for Institutions

Institutions access bqqk for free. This maximizes the number of schools and libraries searching for authors, creating more opportunities for you.

Free Trial

New authors get a 14-day free trial:

Trial Details

  • Duration: 14 days from profile creation
  • Full access: Your profile is visible and you can receive bookings
  • Credit card required: Payment method collected at signup
  • No charge during trial: You're only charged if you continue

Trial Timeline

  • Day 1: Trial begins, full platform access
  • Day 11: Reminder email (3 days before trial ends)
  • Day 13: Final reminder (1 day before trial ends)
  • Day 14: Trial ends, subscription begins automatically

Canceling During Trial

To avoid being charged:

  1. Go to Account Settings > Subscription
  2. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  3. Confirm cancellation
  4. No charge will be made

Your profile will be hidden after the trial ends if you cancel.

Managing Your Subscription

Access subscription settings from your Account Settings:

View Subscription Status

  • Current status (Active, Cancelled, Past Due)
  • Next billing date
  • Payment history

Update Payment Method

  1. Go to Account Settings > Subscription
  2. Click "Update Payment Method"
  3. Enter new card details
  4. Save changes

Your new card will be used for the next billing cycle.

View Payment History

  • See all past payments
  • Download invoices as PDF
  • Review payment dates and amounts

Cancel Subscription

  1. Go to Account Settings > Subscription
  2. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  3. Confirm your decision
  4. Subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period
Data Preservation

When your subscription ends, your profile is hidden but your data is preserved. You can resubscribe later to restore your profile.

Promotional Codes

If you have a promotional code:

  1. Enter it during subscription checkout
  2. See the discount applied before confirming
  3. Discount types may include:
    • Percentage off (e.g., 20% off)
    • Fixed amount off (e.g., $10 off)
    • Extended trial period

Note: Only one promotional code can be used per subscription.

Failed Payments

If your payment fails:

Automatic Recovery

  • Payment retried automatically on days 1, 3, 5, and 7
  • You'll receive email notifications about the failed payment
  • Your profile remains visible during the 7-day grace period

What You Should Do

  1. Check the email for details
  2. Click the link to update your payment method
  3. Once updated, payment is retried automatically
  4. Profile remains active if payment succeeds

After Grace Period

If payment isn't recovered within 7 days:

  • Your profile is hidden from search results
  • You can still log in and access your account
  • Update your payment method to reactivate
  • Profile visibility restores immediately upon successful payment

Subscription Renewal

Before Renewal

You'll receive reminder emails:

  • 30 days before renewal
  • 7 days before renewal
  • 1 day before renewal

Automatic Renewal

  • Subscription renews automatically on your billing date
  • Same payment method charged
  • Confirmation email sent after successful renewal

Preventing Renewal

To stop automatic renewal, cancel your subscription before the renewal date. You'll retain access until your current period ends.

Reactivating Your Subscription

If your subscription has lapsed:

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Go to Account Settings > Subscription
  3. Click "Reactivate Subscription"
  4. Confirm payment method
  5. Your profile becomes visible immediately

Your previous profile data is preserved, so you don't have to start over.

Invoices and Receipts

For each payment:

  • Automatic receipt sent to your email
  • PDF invoice available for download
  • Access complete payment history in your account

This documentation can be used for tax purposes or expense reimbursement.
