Welcome to bqqk! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to start finding and booking children's book authors for your school or library.

Creating Your Account​

Getting started on bqqk is quick and free:

  1. Sign up with your email — Visit bqqk and enter your email address and name
  2. Verify your email — Click the magic link sent to your inbox (valid for 1 hour)
  3. Create your institution — Set up your school or library profile
No Password Required

bqqk uses magic link authentication by default. Simply enter your email to receive a secure login link. If you prefer, you can optionally set up a password in your account settings.

Free for Institutions​

bqqk is completely free for schools and libraries. There are no subscription fees, booking fees, or hidden costs for institutions. You only pay the author's fee when you book a visit.

This means you can:

  • Browse unlimited author profiles
  • Send unlimited booking requests
  • Use all search and discovery features
  • Access resources and guides

Multi-User Access​

Multiple staff members can manage your institution's bqqk presence:

Inviting Team Members​

  1. Go to your institution settings
  2. Click "Invite Team Member"
  3. Enter their email address
  4. They receive an invitation link
  5. Once accepted, they can help manage bookings

Roles​

  • Admin — Full access including inviting/removing members and editing the institution profile
  • Coordinator — Can search for authors and manage bookings

This is helpful when multiple people at your school or library handle author visits.

As an institution on bqqk, you can:

  • Create your institution profile with details about your school or library
  • Search for authors by location, age range, price, and availability
  • Send booking requests to authors you want to host
  • Manage bookings through a unified dashboard
  • Communicate with authors directly on the platform
